DC Comics' Supergirl is coming to TV this November. Following the adventures of Kryptonian refugee, Kara Zor-El (Superman's cousin), Supergirl looks like a lot of TV shows combined into one. We have a Devil Wears Prada-esque tough female boss in Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant, and a secret government agency dealing with extraterrestrial threats! How much awesome cliches can one show have?
Supergirl better be strong if she's going to carry that many plotlines.
Hollywood seems to have entirely dried up the well on fresh ideas, so much so that the 1999 scifi classic Galaxy Quest is being adapted into a TV series. There are no details about the cast or plot yet, but the film version's writer, director, and producer are all on board for the series, so there's hope! But if they can't get Alan Rickman to reprise his role? Why bother?
As reported by TV Guide:
Warner Bros. TV is mulling a new take on Full House, with some of the original cast intact…Leading the charge is John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) — who has an ownership stake in the show, which gives him good reason to champion the new series. Original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin (who's writing the new version) are actively involved. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are on board, while Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are also involved in some way.
