We all know that X Files is coming back in January for a short resurgence. We all know that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have been hanging around each other, being all cute.

One thing we don't know yet is how it will all look whenever those whistling opening credits role and Mulder and Scully step back into our lives.

Well, Fox has a a little snippet to show you. It proves that, yes, Mulder and Scully will both be there, holding guns, looking cool.

Unfortunately, they slap it on a promo for old X Files. Everyone knows we love old X Files, that's why we want more of it.

The X Files is coming back. We've known this. This isn't the thing.

What is the thing is that filming has begun for its January return and photos are already beginning to pour out like some sort of alien goo.

Take a look at David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson getting in character for a return to the weird, conspiratorial world of FBI casework.

NBC's Hannibal returns for its third season June 4 and you need to be way more excited about it.

It is a shockingly good show. And we're not just saying it's good for a network show, no, it's legitimately really great.

We hear you, we were still really, really apprehensive to watch.

So, in an effort to court new viewers to this fantastic televisual feast, here are a few reasons to give it a try.

Warning: Gross Stuff

They must be just as excited as we are for the return of X File this January, because David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson could not keep their hands off each other at a May 12 appearance.

Together they sang Neil Young's Helpless and got us in the mood for weird government conspiracies. Also romance. Always romance.

Either they are stoking some old Mulder/Scully fires or they are just old friends who have a long history working together.

Still! WILL THEY/WON'T THEY?!

Luckily, neither do the good people at Slate. And when FOX announced the show would return for a six-episode stint, they put together this handy little video:

Fox confirmed March 24 that the network is in talks with creator Chris Carter to bring The X Files out of retirement.

This announcement is notable because it hints that original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson might reprise their roles.

With that in mind, we wondered where the show's many maligned monsters of the week are now and whether they would return to glory.
